Gen Art showcased nine top emerging fashion designers from Miami and
New York at its 3rd Annual Fresh Faces in Fashion Show presented by Ecru New York on Thursday, March 16th, poolside at the Doubletree Surfcomber Hotel. The evening began at 8 PM with a Cocktail Reception featuring three accessory designer installations followed by a full seated runway presentation at 9 PM.
The evening was co-hosted by socialite/heiress Lydia Hearst – Shaw and featured
Miami designers in womenswear: Pelusium, Ecliptica and Uli Herzner and in accessories: Lauren Carina, Patricia Costa, and Jennifer Zeuner. They were joined by
New York designers Tomer (menswear), Sarah Luna (womenswear) and Mia (swimwear).
Gen Art previously produced the New York runway debuts of Tomer and Sarah Luna and are now helping these designers to expand their business in the
South Florida region. This event will mark the first year that Gen Art will showcase a swimwear designer in the
Miami fashion presentation.

Fresh Faces in Fashion Miami has become one of
Miami ’s largest and most prestigious fashion events. The Fresh Faces program, which has been catapulting the careers of emerging designers for over a decade, has featured the runway launches for now big name designers including Zac Posen, Rebecca Taylor, Chaiken, Shoshanna, Cloak, Milly, Twinkle and Louis Verdad.
Besides boasting a long list of lofty alumni, Gen Art has proudly expanded its shows from its New York headquarters over the past few years to the top five markets in the country- Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago and
San Francisco .
Confirming its nationwide support of emerging fashion talent, Gen Art will also present The New Garde on March 17, one day after Miami’s Fresh Faces in Fashion, in
Los Angeles . The fashion event, with a star studded host committee including Aisha Tyler (CBS’s “CSI”), Emily Procter (CBS’s “CSI Miami”) and Marsha Thomason (NBC's "Vegas"), will feature three of the West Coast’s hottest and most innovative designers in live model installations as a kick-off to L.A. Fashion Week.
Miami ): Pelusium is the creation of self-taught Miami-based designer Nektar De Stagni. Her style shows a notable dexterity for the balance of opposites - structured but sensual, elegant but practical, feminine but not girly.
ECLIPTICA (Miami / Puerto Rico): Designing sister duo Norein and Michelle Otero utilize embroidery, patchwork, and beaded vintage appliqués on light flowing fabric with silhouettes of plunging necklines giving each unique piece of clothing a statuesque goddess appeal.
TOMER (NY): Designed by
Texas native Tomer Gendler, TOMER is a luxury menswear brand with a ‘sophisticated-modern’ aesthetic. The line has received awards at the Gen Art Styles Competition, the Fashion Group International Rising Star Competition, the Ralph Pucci International and was chosen as the only menswear designer to show at the new “UPS Delivers Fashion’s Future” venue in Bryant Park, where the label was heralded as a brand “at the forefront of fashion’s future,” by the NY Times. Celebrity fans include Adrien Brody and Jamie Foxx.
ULI HERZNER (Miami): A stylist originally from Munich, , Uli moved to the eight years ago and quickly developed a following of models, celebrities and socialites who she began dressing on a regular basis. While scouring stores to find the “perfect” pieces for her clients she decided to start her own clothing line of sophisticated and cutting edge fashions that would target her current client base.
MIA (NY): Rosalia Conigliaro and Mariana Stanciu New York natives and childhood friends create practical, sexy yet feminine swimwear that is inspired by the time they spent living in and the sexiness of the European beaches. The line runs the gamut from sweet to edgy all the while remaining wearable on every body type.
SARAH LUNA (NY): Created by Sarah Blumenthal and Seana Gordon, SARAH is a whimsical and eclectic line of women’s clothing inspired by the philosophy, poetry, music, and the visual arts. Deeply rooted in the silhouettes of 1970’s sportswear, SARAH utilizes bright colors and light-hearted adornments to create fun wearable clothing.
LOREN CARINA (
Miami ): Lauren Carina Graham, creator of Lauren Carina, is a recent Graduate of AI Miami International University of Art and Design. Influenced by the beautiful tropical surroundings of
South Florida , each colorful handcrafted piece is of work is constructed with precious and semi precious gemstones and 24k gold ornate wirework.
PATRICIA COSTA (Miami): Costa Jewelry Design draws inspirations from nature’s palette to the glitterati of yesteryear has dazzling color schemes and intricately layered pieces embellished with precious and semi-precious stones accented with delicate yet striking crystal details.
JENNIFER ZEUNER (
Miami ): Zeuner focuses mostly but not solely on creating versatile necklaces with exquisite materials. These range from vintage Asian flower beads to luminous semi precious stones. All necklaces are sterling silver or gold filled and have unique bead arrangement. Celebrity clients include Cameron Diaz.
